Tomingley's The Ranch is showing off again

NYNGAN Ag Expo supporters for the past five years, Greg and Del Rees of Tomingley, will display another team of Poll Herefords from their The Ranch stud.

Mrs Rees said the Expo had given them the opportunity to showcase The Ranch cattle and, more importantly, the Poll Hereford breed to the "big areas in the west of the State".

"I believe Nyngan is the gateway to the western regions of NSW and the Poll Hereford breed is ideally suited to these areas because of their feed conversion, temperament and daily weight gains under all conditions," Mrs Rees said.

The Ranch stud will display its spring show team, plus bulls that will be for sale during the Expo.

"These bulls are run under conditions that suit the needs of western breeders," she said.

The Ranch won three ribbons with four head at the Sydney Royal Show and was most successful exhibitor at the inaugural NSW Beef Spectacular at Dubbo in March.

At the annual Dubbo Show, The Ranch took junior champion female and reserve senior female, plus junior and grand champion Poll Hereford bull and reserve junior bull, plus breeders group and the most successful exhibitor award.

Topping that success, the stud exhibited five  bulls to gain four ribbons, and sold these to a top of $18,000 (The Ranch Matador A95) to average $7,990.
